Cristina Trette

Cristina Trette is a Marriage and Family Therapist Registered Intern, working under the supervision of Troy Nickell. She is also a Certified Coach. She provides counseling to children, adults, couples, and families. Cristina specializes in relationship and family challenges such as coping with parenting, separation, divorce, blended family concerns, co-parenting, and children’s behavior disorders. In addition, Cristina works with couples providing relationship enhancement and sex therapy.

In her therapy sessions, Cristina uses an integrative approach with an emphasis in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. As a coach, Cristina utilizes a numerous coaching modalities to help facilitate goal setting, planning, and action. Coaching is forward focused and inspires a state of well-being facilitating improvement in all aspects of life including relationships, family, career, health, and wellness.

Cristina’s clinical experience includes working at a local school where she provided school based family therapy and treated individuals with anxiety, major depressive disorder, ADHD, self-harm, trauma, substance use, and family conflict.

Cristina grew up in San Diego. She lives in Solana Beach with her three children and enjoys running, surfing, mindfulness, and yoga in her free time.

Cristina received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and her Master’s of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of San Diego.
